Topic: Understanding the interrelationship of life roles.

Invite a number of men and women who work in various careers
to the school to speak to the students about the benefits, satisfactions, and
responsibilities of their jobs.

Technology Connection
Assessment
Students will be assessed on their completed “Career Day
Research Paper” to evaluate the information they received from each session. The
Career Day activities may be further evaluated through follow-up activities and
discussions.
Extension
This is a good activity for parent involvement. Parents may be
invited to share information about their jobs, and all parents may be invited to
participate in the activity.
Remediation
Students can keep a checklist to add information on careers as
each speaker presents his career.
Accommodation
Modification
For students with significant disabilities, what changes can
be made in instruction and teaching delivery to allow students to participate in
classroom instruction while working on IEP objectives and off grade level QCC
standards. Below are suggested modifications correlated to the procedures of
this lesson plan.
