Standard: Describe the importance of

Standard: Tells time to the half-hour and hour.
Procedures/Activities
Step:
1 Duration: 5 min.
Discuss with students the importance of being punctual and
responsible at home and school. Relate the importance of being punctual at
school to the work place. Discuss with students how parents have to be on time
for work and the importance of being punctual.
Step:
2 Duration: 5 min.
Allow students to describe the positive effects of being
punctual for work.
Step:
3 Duration: 10 min.
Have students identify the time of day they think it would be
appropriate for people in various occupations to report for work and illustrate
them on the chalkboard by drawing a clock and putting the time next to it.
Step: 4 Duration: 10 min.
Distribute the “Career Punctuality Worksheet” for students to
complete.

Extension
Have students research the careers of one of the careers on
the sheet and write a few sentences about what that person does.

throughout the day and draw a clock next the time.

Modification
For students with significant disabilities, what changes can
be made in instruction and teaching delivery to allow students to participate in
classroom instruction while working on IEP objectives and off grade level QCC
