We said: What is being a Racecar Driver all about?

He said: I drive racecars and serve as the spokesperson for our sponsor and their products. When I’m driving, I listen to information from the team spotter and make decisions about speed and how to maneuver past other cars. I also stay in contact with the pit crew to plan stops for refueling and mechanical needs. When I’m not driving, I talk with supporters and sign autographs.

We said: What are the best and hardest parts of being a Racecar Driver?

He said: The best part of my job is driving into the winner’s circle after winning a race. Winning, or even finishing in the top 3, can mean a lot of money and prestige for me and my team. I also like talking to fans and racing buffs. The toughest part is the long hours of concentration during the race and the knowledge that a crash might be just around the corner.

We said: How did you get started as a Racecar Driver?

He said: I started racing go-carts when I was young. I loved everything from designing the cart, building it, to driving. Then I tried racing motorcycles, but I wanted all of the teamwork that car racing involves. So I joined a racing team and started working as a member of the pit crew.
