Informal perspective about a program of study.

How I Got Started: I have been going to Sunday school for years and years. Each Sunday I learn something new about my religion or I am taught a valuable lesson about life. I have had many different teachers, some talk the whole time, and others play lots of games. Either way, I always learn something new that I try to share with others. The teachers I have had taught me in such a way that religion became a main focus in my life. For those reasons, I knew that I wanted to study religious education.

What I Want to Study: I want to study religious education so I will have the chance to share my knowledge of religion with others. Religion has so much to offer, that I want to impact as many people as possible. Some courses I will take in college will be: introduction to religion, biblical literature, and introduction to educational issues and teaching technology. These classes will broaden my knowledge about religion.

What I Can Do In The Future: After studying religious education, I need to decide what I want to do for a career. I can be a Sunday school teacher like my role models, or I can teach at a private school where religion is offered as a class. If I do not want to teach in a classroom, but want to stay in the religious education field, I can write books that explain what religious education is all about. Another option for me is to work in a religious education activities department. These departments usually include various programs like, choir, sports, youth group, writing newsletters, study groups, and volunteering. I have many options if I study religious education. The hard part is deciding what to do with my education after I receive it!
